We always say “Let’s Pick it Up” and now we can say “We Picked it Up!”
On behalf of the Organizing Committee we want to thank each and every person who stepped in, stepped up and made our spring 2022 Cleanup event a tremendous success. Some joined us the day of, some before and some are waiting for better weather.
The numbers are not all in but we registered over 400 volunteers, new faces, regular followers and of course lots of walk-ins. We had a Girl Guide Group earning their badges, students working on volunteer hours to graduate, little ones and grandparents. We gave out every bag the city provided us with, used the extras we usually have on hand and bought more! We took 1600 pounds to the dump, filled three 40 yard bins and that’s not including the numbers that still need to come in.
In my mind……that’s success!
I also want to give a huge shout out to the team leaders in each of the ten neighbourhoods we had registered. Your cooperation, support and understanding helped us navigate the unexpected glitches that inevitably come up.
