Josie Angelini,
Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board Trustee
(Ward 3 and 4)

Greetings to everyone in Ward 3 and 4.

A Quick Update

My inauguration took place on Tuesday November 15th, where I was sworn into the Office of Trustee by Board attorney Mark Abradjian.
Prior to the Declaration of Office, Oath of Allegiance and Promise, Most Reverend Bishop Lobsinger celebrated mass in honour of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board’s new Board of Trustees. His words focused on the crucial role of trustees and added that “Jesus entrusts some of his authority to the apostles in order that they may go out and make disciples of all nations. Now Jesus has shared his authority with you who are to be our trustees. And he has given this authority to you for the exact same reason, to go and make disciples. That is your task, as it is my task”.

The Inaugural Address was given by Patrick Daly (Trustee of Ward 7 and Chairperson of the Board). His message focused on the importance of Catholic Education and that by “placing Christ and the teachings of the Catholic Church at the centre of students’ learning experiences” will strengthen one’s Catholic identity.
As a Catholic School Board Trustee, one of my initial roles will involve serving on several committees, such as Student Achievement & Well Being Committee, Indigenous Education Committee, Equal Opportunities Committee, Catholicity & Communications Committee, as well as others. I am looking forward to working with fellow trustees, board administrators, staff, students, and parents/guardians to ensure the highest level of Catholic education is achieved.
