FREE After School Program

Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 2:30-5:30pm. Open to Cathy Wever students ages 6-12! Applications are continuously accepted throughout the school year with spots offered in order of receipt and as they become available. Program includes daily physical activity, crafts, health & wellness activities, and a healthy snack!

SWIM ADMISSION CRITERIA

All non-swimmers must remain in the shallow end.

  • Children 0-5 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and must be within arm’s reach at all times.
  • Children 6-9 years of age who cannot pass the Facility Swim Test, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and must be within arm’s reach at all times.
  • Children 6-9 who can pass the Facility Swim Test may be admitted without a parent or guardian

A guardian is defined as an individual at least 12 years of age or older who is responsible for the direct supervision of children within their care.

 

NOTES: Centre will be closed Monday October 9, 2023 (Thanksgiving)

Pop Over to Powell

Join us at Powell Park and Clubhouse for free drop-in activities and equipment borrowing offered after school on Mondays and Fridays from 3:00-4:30pm, for participants of all ages!

Recreation Assistance Program

The Recreation Assistance Program provides City of Hamilton residents living with a low income the opportunity to participate in organized sports and recreation programs.

Upon approval, families are eligible for:

  • Free Family Participation Pass (valid for citywide drop-in recreation programs)
  • Free Family Skate Pass (valid for citywide drop-in public skates)
  • 90% discount off City of Hamilton registered programs (up to $150 per child)
  • 50% discount off Affiliated Minor Sport league registration fees
  • 65% discount off year-round Camp Kidaca programs (up to 15 days at the base fee)
