HOLDS are Back!
As of July 17, you can call (289-779-7588) or visit your Barton Branch to place Holds on the library materials you’d like to borrow. Been keeping an ever-growing list during the outage? No worries, you can also let us know what holds you would like place using the Contact Us online form. No matter how you place your holds, you will get notified when your Holds are available for pickup.
Looking to inspire your reluctant reader to pick up a book this August? It’s never too late in the summer to sign the kids up for Reading Buddies.
This free, hour-long program offers a half hour of individual reading support as your child reads with one of our volunteer Reading Buddies followed by a cool group activity. Ideal for children ages 6-12, there are four time slots from which to choose: Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am and 2pm. Call 289-779-7588 or drop by the Branch to register today!
August is another busy Summer Reading Club month at the Library. There is still lots of time to register your kids for SRC and pick up their tracker and activity pack. Sign up now and collect prizes (a free book for every child!) and be automatically entered to win one of two monthly branch prizes and a final grand prize.

What ‘cha doing Wednesdays? Visit the library every Wednesday at 2pm and join staff for these engaging programs:
- Aug 7: Imagination Stations Create with our STREAM kits and educational toys. Ages 4-12 years
- Aug 14: Comics and Secret Identities Read comics, discover new characters and create your own superhero. Ages 4-12 years
- Aug 21: Nintendo Switch Gaming: Super Smash Bros Play Switch games with friends old and new. Ages 8-16 years
- Aug 28: Make and Create Fuel your creative side and make a cool craft to take home. All supplies provided. Ages 4-12 years

Hey Teens! Looking to earn some volunteer hours while school’s out? Join our Knit for a Cause program: hang out with other teens and earn volunteer hours while helping to provide warm clothing for your fellow community members. Fill out the volunteer application online or come into the branch and we can get you started.
